An image after the rain.

April 11, 2012

The morning drapes opened as a curtain call.  The overnight performance of Sturm und Drang had concluded.  The storm clouds had parted too and the young sapling proudly stood in view in the sunlight, as in the spotlight, the new Spring leaves highlighted with the raindrops still glistening upon them as if sweat upon the brow.  A gentle bow towards the sun from the breeze completed the image, as the sapling, like the conductor of the orchestra of nature, gently swayed in thanks for the overnight rain.  A cloud returned blotting out the spotlight and bringing the background into conscious view.  There stood the day awaiting its cue to begin the next movement.  Off stage, birds twittered and stopped.  They wait too for the downbeat, as do I.
